Architectural Design

Nakornpathom House, Nakornpathom.

The design is shaped by the identity of the homeowner as a collector and admirer of timber, where the house becomes both a living space and a subtle showcase of material craftsmanship. The architecture is conceived as a calm, horizontal composition that allows timber to take center stage—celebrating its texture, warmth, and aging over time—while remaining gently embedded within the surrounding landscape rather than imposed upon it.

Natural materials define the architectural language. Warm timber elements bring a sense of human scale and tactility, while the concrete base anchors the building to the ground, providing both structural clarity and thermal stability. Vertical timber screens filter sunlight and views, creating privacy without disconnecting the interior from its environment.

The open structural rhythm and deep overhangs respond to climate, offering shade, natural ventilation, and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Large openings frame the landscape, turning everyday living into a continuous experience of light, shadow, and greenery.

Overall, the project is conceived as a calm retreat—an architecture of restraint, balance, and connection—where modern living coexists harmoniously with nature.
